Self Defence: Defending against a rear neck choke

In self-defense, breaking free from a hold often means focusing on what's free, not what's trapped. Rather than trying to pry the attacker’s grip off, redirect your energy to actions that create an escape opportunity. Use one of your hands to grab the attacker’s hair, applying firm pressure right at the roots to cause pain and distraction. While he's focused on the pain, follow through with a sharp chop to the Adam’s apple or a solid knee strike to the groin. This approach not only disrupts his control but gives you a valuable chance to create distance and find safety.

At Zelus Academy, our online Self Defense course provides you with practical techniques that use leverage, distraction, and precision to gain the upper hand quickly.
