Hockey: Change direction on the go for a smooth run

In Zelus Academy’s online hockey course, we prioritize dynamic drills to improve players’ agility and ball control on the field. One such drill is the directional change exercise, designed to enhance players’ ability to quickly maneuver with the ball in different directions.

To perform this drill, set up four marked cones 3 meters apart on the ground, forming a square. Begin by executing a forehand run with the ball, turning to the right around all four cones. Focus on maintaining control and momentum while navigating around each cone.

After completing the run to the right, swiftly switch directions and repeat the drill by turning to the left around all four cones. This challenges players to adapt to changing directions seamlessly while maintaining control of the ball.

Through our online platform, participants gain access to detailed tutorials and demonstrations of this drill, allowing them to practice and refine their directional change skills at their own pace. Join Zelus Academy’s online hockey course to elevate your agility and ball-handling abilities on the field. Gain expert guidance, comprehensive drills, and personalized training to excel in every aspect of the game. Continue reading
