Self -Defence:A final note on defending against a collar grab

In the online Self Defense course at Zelus Academy, one of the key techniques taught is how to neutralize an attacker's grip using simple yet effective methods. If an attacker grabs your forearm, the first step is to pull their forearm towards your body to weaken their hold. This movement creates the perfect opportunity to use pressure point control.

Apply pressure with your thumb to the pressure point located below the biceps, right where the triceps begin. This will immediately cause discomfort, giving you an advantage. If the attacker persists, escalate the defense by delivering a quick bite on the area where the biceps muscle starts. This unexpected move can cause significant pain and force the attacker to release their grip.

Once the attacker is momentarily disabled, it’s important to follow up with one of the strikes you’ve already learned in the Self Defense online learning program. These could include a knee strike, an elbow jab, or any other technique practiced in class. The key to effective self-defense is staying calm and combining different techniques to protect yourself efficiently.

Master these techniques in the online Self Defense course at Zelus Academy to feel confident in defending yourself in real-world situations. Continue reading
