In the online Keyboard course at Zelus Academy, using a metronome is an essential part of learning to play in rhythm. When you press the metronome button, you should hear a steady 4-beat sound: 1-2-3-4. Your digital display will show a number indicating the tempo. The larger the number, the faster the tempo; the smaller the number, the slower it will be. For beginners, it’s recommended to start with a tempo between 60 and 80 beats per minute.
Once you’ve set your tempo, practice the C Major scale (C-D-E-F-G-A-B-C) in sync with the metronome. Follow the beat as you play: 1-2-3-4 for each set of notes. Focus on timing and accuracy, making sure each key is pressed in alignment with the beats of the metronome. After completing the scale, lift your fingers off the keys at the end of the last beat.
Through Keyboard online learning, Zelus Academy teaches the importance of playing with precise timing and rhythm. Consistent practice with the metronome builds your ability to play confidently and keeps your performance steady, whether you're practicing scales or playing songs. Continue reading
