Hockey: How an effective tackle can influence the game's outcome

At Zelus Academy’s online hockey course, we prioritize defensive strategies to prevent the opposing team from scoring. One fundamental skill we teach is the forehand tackle, crucial for intercepting attacks and regaining control of the ball. This technique requires precise footwork and stick handling to execute effectively.

To perform the forehand tackle, the player begins by stepping forward with the left foot while simultaneously throwing the stick with the front blade extended towards the attacker. During this maneuver, only the left hand holds the stick. After executing the tackle, the player swiftly springs back into position and regains a two-handed grip on the stick.

Mastery of the forehand tackle demands agility, timing, and defensive awareness. Through detailed tutorials and demonstrations on our online platform, participants learn the proper techniques step by step. By practicing under expert guidance, players refine their defensive skills and become adept at thwarting opponent attacks.

Join Zelus Academy’s online hockey course to elevate your defensive prowess and learn essential techniques like the forehand tackle. Gain the skills and confidence needed to protect your goal and dominate the field defensively. Continue reading
