By mastering the knife hand block, students build a strong foundation in blocking and redirecting an opponent’s strikes.
Next, the Kata transitions into forward stance movements utilizing upper blocks. These movements focus on defending against attacks aimed at the upper body, particularly strikes to the head and shoulders. The forward stance helps Karateka develop stability and power, essential for effective blocking and counterattacks.
