Hockey: Know when and how to use the short handle hit

In Zelus Academy’s online hockey course, we emphasize the importance of mastering quick and effective shots to capitalize on scoring opportunities, even when time is limited. One such technique we teach is the quick snap shot, ideal for situations where a full swing is not feasible.

To execute a quick snap shot, players should adjust their grip further down the handle, positioning it midway for better control and leverage. Additionally, players should bend their upper body forward slightly more than usual to maximize power generation.

Next, swing the stick backward until it aligns with the right shoulder, preparing to strike the ball. This motion allows players to leverage the momentum generated by the backward swing, setting up for a swift and accurate shot.

Through our online platform, participants access detailed tutorials and demonstrations, guiding them through the proper mechanics of the quick snap shot. Join Zelus Academy’s online hockey course to refine your skills and become a more dynamic and effective offensive player. Gain expert guidance, comprehensive drills, and personalized training to excel in every aspect of the game. Continue reading
