Badminton: Make your opponent run the length of the court with a forehand drop shot

In Zelus Academy’s online badminton course, mastering the proper technique for a powerful and accurate shot is crucial. Here’s a step-by-step guide to executing an effective overhead smash:

Start with a basic grip and adopt a side stance with your front arm raised for balance. Transfer your weight to your rear leg to prepare for the shot. As you initiate the movement, push your rear hip forward to generate power.

Next, move your rear shoulder and elbow upwards and forward, creating a strong base for your swing. Begin the forward swing by rotating your arm outwards and then inwards. This motion helps in building momentum and precision.

As you approach the point of contact with the shuttle, slow the racquet head just before impact to control the direction and speed of the shot. Aim to hit the shuttle downwards, maximizing the effectiveness of your smash.

Through our online platform, participants gain access to detailed tutorials and demonstrations, guiding them through each step of this technique. Join Zelus Academy’s online badminton course to refine your overhead smash and become a more formidable player. Gain expert guidance, comprehensive drills, and personalized training to excel in every aspect of the game. Continue reading
