Badminton: Deal with unpredictable serves with a doubles flick service return

In Zelus Academy’s online badminton course, we focus on essential techniques for effectively receiving different types of serves, including the flick serve. Proper positioning and visual tracking are crucial for successfully returning a flick serve.

When receiving a flick serve, it is important never to let the shuttle get behind your head and body. Avoid the common mistake of turning your head up and backward to follow the shuttle’s trajectory, as this makes it difficult to keep pace with the shuttle.

Instead, maintain a position where you can keep the shuttle in sight right in front of you throughout its flight. This allows for better anticipation and quicker reaction times. Stay light on your feet and be prepared to move quickly to intercept the shuttle at its highest point.

Through our online platform, participants gain access to detailed tutorials and demonstrations, guiding them through the correct techniques for receiving various serves. Join Zelus Academy’s online badminton course to enhance your serve reception skills and become a more competitive player. Gain expert guidance, comprehensive drills, and personalized training to excel in every aspect of the game. Continue reading
